Plant-based bee products are very important from a food-medicinal point of view. Therefore, compilation and analysis of available data in this field is very necessary. It seems that so far, no compiled source has been published in Iran with the approach of determining the plant origin of honey, and this book is perhaps the first of its kind on this subject.
Honey bee products as very valuable food-medicinal compounds are rooted in nature, and plants are the main source of these compounds. These products are collected and processed by the bee in the form of pollen, nectar and honeydew and then stored in the hive. Due to the great economic value of bee products, fraud in supplying these products is also prevalent, and therefore the authenticity and quality control of these products is necessary. The present book reviews methods of authentication, quality control, grading, determination of plant origin and health of honey, flower pollen and propolis, based on the most advanced technologies and scientific achievements in the world, as well as national and international standards and analyzes the pharmacological effects of these compounds in the form of clinical trial studies published in reliable scientific sources of the world, which can be useful for researchers and activists in the field.
